SUMMER SCHOOL-Today 1st graders focused on The 3 Little Pigs. We used puppets for retelling & our STEM project was building a strong house. We also had a BLAST with the rockets we made. To conclude our 1st week of treasured memories we enjoyed a visit from our zoo friends!🐧🦉🐍

Today SUMMER SCHOOL FUN included three stops: Ohio Caverns, the Urbana Airport, and the Freshwater Fish Farm outside of Urbana. Our 1st Grade Crew had a ball!! Great experiences, awesome tour guides, and lasting memories were made!! We PIRATES treasure these opportunities! ❤️🐠

Day 3 of SUMMER SCHOOL FUN! We reused the coffee filters from our water chromatography project to create beautiful butterflies. We observed changes to our salt water fossils, made yellow submarines, conducted an excavation for dinos, had a lost tooth, and celebrated a birthday!!

More SUMMER SCHOOL FUN with my 1st graders: Today we talked about recycling & used water jugs to create terrariums. We also started a water chromatography project & will continue it tomorrow as we recycle the filter and it emerges as something new. Can you guess what it will be?

SUMMER SCHOOL FUN with my 1st graders: Today we continued our COSI Dino box exploration. Some activities were making a fossil and impressions, creating sedimentary rock as layers covered our dino that died on the beach, and a matching game of dinos with their tooth or toe. 💙🦖❤️

SUMMER SCHOOL fun with the 1st graders! Today we focused on Goldilocks & the 3 Bears. We painted bear banks to collect money (for prizes), retold the story with puppets, and built & tested chairs for our STEAM activity. We did a math talk & started our DINO box. Busy day!❤️💙

School Schedules/Class Lists will go live in your Gradebook account on Friday, August 11th. For those students that are open enrolled, yet have not submitted the open enrollment application for 23-24, GB accounts will be locked. Please ensure FFs are completed and OE applications are submitted prior to August 10th to avoid account deactivation. Enjoy the rest of your Summer break!
