The J.H. track meet at Fairlawn tonight, Tuesday, April 23, has been cancelled by Fairlawn.
The Evening of Excellence will take place on Wednesday, April 24th at 6:00 pm. Invitations were mailed home last week and an email invite was sent to families. If you have questions, please contact the school office.

**RIVERSIDE ATHLETIC SCHEDULE: APRIL 22-27, 2024**
This past week the kindergarteners received a jar of caterpillars to experience 1st hand their metamorphosis. Over the next few weeks we'll continue to record our observations (as shown in the student example). We are fluttering with joy in anticipation of our future butterflies!
Dominik Stotler represented Riverside at the Kiwanis Luncheon that celebrated Students of the Month for some of the county schools. Keianna Notestine also attended to represent Ohio Hi-Point Career Center.

Staff Spotlight day. Today we highlight Mrs. Shoemaker. Mrs. Shoemaker works with some of our smallest Pirates. She does this with endless patience and great attitude. She is quick to help in any situation she is needed. She is also a proud parent of Pirate boys which keep her running to sporting events. We are blessed with her smile and great sense of humor and are truly blessed she is part of our Pirate staff. Thanks for all you do Mrs. Shoemaker!
Bio-
1. What is your job title and description of what you do?
I am an elementary paraprofessional. I work one on one and assist all the students in the kindergarten class. I love helping all the kiddos with their work and keeping them on task. I also help supervise other grades during lunch and recess.
2. How long with Riverside?
I have been with Riverside for 1 year now!
3. Family?
I have been married to my wonderful husband Randy for 15 years. I have two kids- Guage (14) and Hayes (10), as well as a dog named Tilly and a cat named Stanley.
4. Hobbies?
Busy sports mom, so you can always find me at a hockey rink, football or baseball field. In my spare time I do enjoy making earrings or crafting. I love music and going to concerts!
5. Favorites (food, holiday, etc)?
Food- tacos
Sport- hockey
Holiday- Christmas and Halloween
Favorite place to vacation- Minnesota or Tennessee
6. Best Co-workers why?
I work with some amazing people. The staff at Riverside is fantastic!
What is it about Riverside that makes you want to stay a Pirate?
I love the "kid first" mentality. Everyone works so well together as a big family to do what is best for the students. I am proud to be a pirate!

The Riverside Manufacturing classes are doing a fundraiser to raise money for our program. The event opens tonight at 5:00 PM. This event is completely digital and as hands free as possible. This money will help pay for our catered lunch event if we hit our goal and bring in $3,000! The money also goes to the purchase of SkillsUSA attire, classroom supplies, and other events. We get 50% of what is made on the sale. Please help us out and buy some delicious popcorn!

The varsity baseball game scheduled for today, Friday, April 12, Perry at Riverside, has been cancelled.
*RIVERSIDE ATHLETIC PHYSICALS FOR THE 2024/25 SCHOOL YEAR*
The Riverside Health Center will be administering athletic physicals for Riverside athletes for the 2024/25 school year. Riverside athletes that will be in grades 7-12 for the 2024/25 school year can get a physical between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm during the week of May 10th to 17th. The physicals will be free during this time. You must schedule your physical time by calling the office at 937-599-1411.
*You must bring the signed OHSAA PPE Physical Form with you for the physical. This can be printed from Final Forms (5 pages: Pages 1-3 are medical history; Pages 4-5 are the pages to be completed by the physician.
