Riverside Local Schools had the honor to host Governor Mike DeWine today. Governor DeWine visited because Riverside Elementary has been using an evidence based reading curriculum, along with best instructional practices that are aligned to the Science of Reading. Governor DeWine's goal is for every student in Ohio to be a proficient reader. His plan is for all Ohio schools to use evidence based reading programs that are aligned to the Science of Reading, to help improve Early Childhood Literacy. We were honored to have Governor DeWine as our guest, he was able to visit Mrs. Easton's class, as well as Mrs. Mann's class. It was an awesome day at Riverside! #PiratePride

The second graders packed their suitcases and took a trip to Australia!! They visited Kangaroo Island, Kata Tjuda National Park, Sydney Opera House, and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. They had a lot of fun learning about these exciting places!!!
