A big shout-out to Mrs. Hess and Mrs. Fauley for volunteering their time to get some student-athletes caught up on their assignments! This is a great example of our staff willing to go above and beyond for our students.

Seventh graders from Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan, Indian Lake, West Liberty Salem and host Riverside Schools have an opportunity October 24th to talk with representatives from many different professions happening here in Logan County.
Youth Development Liaison Karen Sorreles from the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center organizes the event in conjunction with the Logan County Chamber of Commerce. This event began in 2016 as a result of a recommendation made by the Logan County Collaborative. The goal of Career Day is for students to get hands-on exposure to well-known occupations, including many positions they may not have heard about or come in contact within their daily routines.
Students will have the chance to ask questions and get to know local people working in the areas of law enforcement, digital marketing, agriculture, construction, dental, engineering, automotive, various medical fields, & banking, to name a few. We truly appreciate the community volunteers taking time out to help the future workforce explore careers. Students were assigned different tasks to learn more about careers they may have an interest in for their future. Students have the opportunity to interview the representatives, asking about typical work days, required education and what they enjoy about their job?
Extensive career exploration is now an important part of the required curriculum for middle school students which includes guest class speakers in the 6th grade all the way up to job shadowing in the eighth grade. The Logan County Career Day is part of planting that seed so students can start to really consider their career path and what it takes to reach their personal career goals.

REMINDER!!! The Powder Puff and Reverse Court has been moved to Thursday morning. This has been done to allow out Girls Golf Team to participate. They are competing in the District Golf Tournament on Wednesday.

The Lady Pirates played a practice round at Heatherwoode Golf Course on Thursday in preparation for the district tournament. They got soaked by a downpour on the last three holes, but they insisted they wanted to finish the round. They were greeted by a rainbow at the end of the round.
Go Lady Pirates!
