The Riverside Boys' Bowling team won the SW District Division II Sectional Championship Thursday at Poelking Marian Lanes in Huber Heights. This is the first bowling sectional championship in school history.
The Pirates came out on fire, shooting team games of 1105, breaking the school record, then shot 1072, and 1089 to take an early lead. After 6 baker games, the Pirates came out on top as the 2023 Sectional Champions!! Gage Stevenson had a 588 series, Tyler Knight had a 693 series, Zander Crouch had a 677 series, Sam King had a 696 series and Andrew Knight led the Pirates with a 701 series.
The Pirates will now bowl in the SW District Tournament on Tuesday, February 21st at Beaver-Vu Bowl Lanes in Beavercreek. Great Job Pirates!

Members of the Lady Pirates high school girls basketball team recently served at the Five Loaves Food Pantry in Quincy. It was a really good experience for the players. Great job Lady Pirates!

SHOUT OUT to Mrs. Wilkinson!!! I've learned & taught so many new strategies this year! Thank you, Mrs. Wilkinson, for your training in Math Talks!! My kiddos are thinkers, but that doesn't always look the same. These are 4 different kiddos' examples of how they solved 35+7. ❤️💙

Riverside Boys Bowling Team: (L2R) Coach Zerah Crouch, Jr Sam King, Sr Tyler Knight, Sr Andrew Knight, Sr Zander Crouch, and Jr Gage Stevenson This team has a record of 40-2 over the last three seasons in regular matches and has only been beaten by Mechanicsburg who is the defending back to back State champions. They have two second place finishes and two tournament championships and have not placed below sixth this season in the 8 tournaments they've bowled, bowling in fields of at least 20 schools that include a majority of division one schools. This group worked all off season, traveling Ohio and out of state bowling every youth tournament they could find to get to the level they're at now. They've proved time and again this season that they are one of the elite teams in Ohio and can compete with any team in the state. For a coach it's not all wins and losses, the biggest accomplishment of the season in my eyes is that these three seniors have all put the time and effort and hard work in on the lanes and in the classroom to make it to the next level and will all three Seniors be moving on to college to bowl for their schools. The final goal for our season is to make it thru sectionals and districts and make the state tournament. I want to thank this group of kids and the great group of parents for making this the most successful bowling season in Riverside bowling history and they're not done yet!! Thanks, Coach Zerah Crouch

Happy Valentine's Day!!
